European Pilgrimage

DAY 1: MANILA - ROME
Depart Manila for an overnight flight to Rome.
DAY 2: ROME - SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO (DINNER)
Upon arrival at Rome, meet and greet then then board your bus for a long distance transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo. Upon arrival, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO - LANCIANO - ROME (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, visit the Shrine of St. Padre Pio at the Convent of Santa Maria della Grazie. Visit the Tomb and Crypt. Afterwards, proceed to Lanciano and visit San Francesco Church, site of the first Eucharistic Miracle. Long distance transfer to Rome to visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: ROME (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed to a morning guided tour which includes the Vatican to visit St. Peter’s Basilica and Square and the Vatican Museum. Continue your sightseeing with the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Vittorio Emanu-elle II Monument, Piazza Navona, and toss a coin in the Trevi Fountain on the hope of returning to Rome. Free time to walk to the Spanish Steps and shop for luxurious branded goods. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 5: ROME - ASSISI - PISA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Stop in Assisi the hometown of the Beloved St. Francis. See the Basilica of St. Francis and the Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli. Continue on to Pisa to for a photo stop at the amazing Lean-ing Tower and the nearby Cathedral. Check in to your hotel in Pisa for an overnight stay.
DAY 6: PISA - MONACO - NICE (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Cross the border to France and stop at the Principality of Monaco. See the Annunciation Cathedral where Prince Rainer & Princess Grace are buried. See the Casino Monte Carlo, the Rock, Port Hercule and Larvotto Beach. Later, continue to Nice to see the Massena Square, Promenade des Anglais and the Place Garibaldi before dinner and check in. Overnight at hotel in Nice.
DAY 7: NICE - BARCELONA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Leave the French Riviera and cross over the Spanish border on your way to Barcelona. Check in to your hotel upon arrival. Overnight at hotel in Barcelona.
DAY 8: BARCEOLONA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Proceed to a morning guided visit to the Montserrat Monastery to see the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of Virgen Moreneta, the Black Virgin. Afterwards, see the Plaza Espana, Plaza Real, Plaza Catalunya, Olympic Stadium, Christopher Columbus Monument, Arch of Triumph and the La Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Barcelona's most famous landmark and Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 9: BARCELONA - LOURDES (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. After lunch, return to France on your way to the major pilgrimage site in Europe – Lourdes. Check in to your hotel. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel in Lourdes.
DAY 10: LOURDES (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. The day is free for private devotion. You may wish to go to the Sanctuary to visit the Underground Basilica, walk the Station of the Cross, take the Holy Bath, drink the water or wash your face in the Grotto, or participate in the veneration of the sick pilgrim. In the evening, join the emotive candlelight procession. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 11: LOURDES - ZARAGOSA - BURGOS (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Cross the Spanish border on your way to Zaragoza and see the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, considered the Patroness of the country and the Spanish Civil Guard. Afterwards, dinner then check in to your hotel in Burgos.
DAY 12: BURGOS - SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel.This morning, visit the Burgos Gothic Cathedral. Afterwards, drive to Santiago de Compostela, a World Heritage City and one of the most important places in Catholicism, for dinner and overnight.
DAY 13: SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA - FATIMA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Your city tour of this historical city will take you to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, Plaza del Obradoiro, Monasterio de San Martin Pinario, Convento de San Francisco, Fuente de Los Caballos and the Palacio de Raxoi. Cross the border of Portugal and drive to Fatima another pilgrimage center. Dinner then check in to your hotel.
DAY 14: FATIMA – LISBON - FATIMA (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. Drive to the capital of Portugal, Lisbon – see the Tagus river, Marques de Pombal Square, Liberdade Avenue, pass by Belem Palace, official residence of the President of Portugal. Stop at Belem Tower – icon of the Age of Discovery and the Monument of the Discoveries. Close by is Jeronimos Monastery, magnificent example of the Manueline style. See the Baixa, Praca do Comer-cio and the Suspension Bridge. Return to Fatima for some free time for private devotion. You may explore the Sanctuary and the Great White Basilica and maybe, join the candlelight procession in the evening. Overnight at hotel in Fatima.
DAY 15: FATIMA - AVILA - MADRID (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, cross the border to Spain and stop in Avila - completely encircled by 11th century walls and birthplace of St. Theresa of Avila and visit the Convent of St. Theresa and the Cathedral. Continue to the capital city, Madrid. Overnight and dinner at hotel in Madrid.
DAY 16: MADRID (BREAKFAST, DINNER)
Breakfast at hotel. This morning, go on a half day city sightseeing tour of this beautiful city and see the Puerto del Sol, Gran Via, Cibeles Fountain, Alcala Gate, Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Plaza de Espanya, Prado Museum, highlighted by a visit to the Royal Palace, the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family at the city of Madrid. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 17: MADRID - MANILA (BREAKFAST)
Breakfast at hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your return flight.
